Starting September 2007, I’ll be working with the Young Adult Volunteers (YAVs) in Tucson, AZ. We’ll be focusing on simple community living and will have volunteer placements focused on border issues. I'll live with eight people... so it might be like The Real World, except not.
I graduated from William and Mary this past spring with a BS in biology. I ran on the track team for the first two years, on team Blitz for the second two, got involved in InterVarsity and belonged to a couple other organizations. You can probably tell from the awkward structure of my sentences that I majored in biology and not English.
This past summer I worked in a DNA forensics lab as an intern and am really ready to ship out to Tucson for some desert adventures. Hopefully I'll learn some Spanish while I'm there. The purpose of this blog is to give myself a journaling outlet during this experience and to make it easy for friends and those back at home to peek in and see what I've been up to in the land of sand.
